Current Regimen [ under construction ]
If you have been following my blog or my YouTube <—- click here! (theBakerBee) you are aware that I am currently in the process of trying a bunch of different products to see if hair truly gets “used to” or immune to products. So here we go, my updated and in process regimen !!
wash : currently in the process of trying Tea Tree Tingle from Trader Joe’s [2 times]
- used it once and liked it. before that just co-wash. no shampoo at all. if the Tingle fails me I’ll return to the no shampooing method
condition: just switched from JoiCo moisture recovery to Rusk Sensories Wellness , HEAL conditioner. Click here to see the review
- i have to use a lot of it to get the slip that I want. it’s okay tho also I think this conditioner is meant for strengthening hair, it says “restorative” . I haven’t processed my hair with color since october but I still think my hair would benefit from some strengthening
deep condition: homemade concoctions, karen’s body beautiful luscious locks, curl junkie: curl rehab, and it’s a 10 miracle mask for 20 minutes to 1 hour. Click here to see the review.
- i haven’t used the it’s a 10 yet, I will be doing a review when I do get a chance to use it .. buuuuuut the KBB Luscious Locks is a STAPLE in my regimen and I have been spoiled by it’s greatest so when I used the curl junkie I was just kinda like .. “ehh, it’s aiiiight,” (click for review) Truthfully I have used it twice and the first time I used it I wasn’t the most impressed but I used it a second time and I will be incorporating it into my regimen, rotating it with two others that I like (once I find them). As far as homemade concotions, I use things like olive oil, coconut oil and jojoba oil and sit under my huetiful hair steamer when I get a chance!
leave-in : Kinky Curly Knot Today & castor oil.
- once I have finished with the shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner.. I dry my hair with my microfiber towel so that is wet but not dripping but not to dry.. if that makes sense? Then I apply my leave in conditioner all over.. Once that is distributed evenly I use about a nickel size of castor oil and a quarter size of the leave-in and apply it to my ends (sealing).. My hair is cut into layers so I end up doing the ends and then doing the whole outer layer of my hair..I think it would take forever to try and get EACH layer..
styling : flexirods, bantu knot outs, twist outs, flat twists, buns basically any protective style I can think of! NO HEAT!!!!
-with my protective styles I use coconut oil before and jojoba oil after when taking them out or refreshing them. Other oils that I use are olive oil and more recently , almond oil.
other things, sleeping on a satin pillow with a scarf, finger combing, and just being really cautious when handling my hair!
<3 Baker B!
**I complete the regimen above about once a week depending on the weather, state of my hair or what style it is in!
