Anonymous asked: Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! How long have you been growing your hair to become that length? Do you have any before and after pictures? What regimen can I follow to get my hair your length? We pretty much have the same hair type so I want to follow a regimen of a person with similar hair to mine
getthowed asked: You look 6'2" lol
mybeautifultwistedlife asked: Hey. I just found your blog on Curly Nikki. I love the blonde color that you have/had. Is it a box color ?

Heatless: Tips for your No Heat Challenge
So, after successfully not using heat I’ve come up with some tips and tricks for how to say no to heat, or at least stay away from your flat iron.
Number 1: Out of Sight Out of Mind - get your flat iron off your bathroom counter or make up stand. If you see your flat iron or blow dryer you are going to want to use it. I know you are! Been there. Put your flat iron somewhere that...

s-o-mnium asked: So on curly nikki i saw that you used revita hair growth shampoo. I obviously was like omg i need some of that so I looked it up. Were you balding or did you just do it to make your hair grow? And I have this irrational fear that when i rinse it in the shower it will get on my body and make weird hair patches.

Cutting the Fairies and Splits
In the natural hair community, trimming is a huge topic of conversation. A commonly asked question is “how often do you cut your hair to make it grow”. Trimming your hair is necessary when your ends are split because split ends inhibit hair from growing to it’s longest potential! The easiest way to lessen the chance of getting split ends is getting rid of all ends and starting...

Hair Growth VS Length Retention
How do you know when your hair is growing? How do you know that it’s not growing, just breaking off? These two concepts are commonly used interchangably but are different.
Hair growth = new growth at the root
Length retention = keeping length allowing for longer hair
How can you make your hair grow? Honestly, I don’t think that you can MAKE your hair growth, only assist it....

Hair Sealing + Leave-in Conditioner Fix
Part of my hair regimen, including not using heat, includes applying leave-in conditioner & sealing my ends. The purpose of doing so is to provide a kind of “oil covering” to the hair strands in turn, preventing split ends! I have not always used the leave in method or the sealing method until recently, probably the last 4 or 5 months.
So, what doessealing your ends mean?...

My Natural Hair Awareness Project!
In just a few days it will be my 9th month of my natural hair awareness project. My goal in this project is to get my hair as long and as healthy as I possibly can - until I get bored with it.
In the last nine months I haven’t used a flat iron or curling iron and only used a blow dryer on low heat twice. No heat if possible. (- no cheating)
I have used styling utensils like curlformers...

Curl Junkie : Curl Rehab Deep conditioner review
Last night I used Curl Junkie for the first time. I normally use Karen’s Body Beautiful as my deep conditioner of choice but it’s time for a change and I am working on a new regimen. The day before using this deep conditioner I washed my hair with Rusk Sensories Wellness Heal Shampoo and conditioner for the first time.
The 98% DC is called “Curl Rehab”. It comes in to...

Karen's Body Beautiful: Luscious Locks Mask
This is the first natural deep conditioner that I have used other than my own homemade ones..! And I LOVE IT. The first time I heard about this was from Taren on YouTube. Her hair is similar to mine so I figured I’d give it a go! I ordered this sample pack that came with a shampoo bar (TERRIBLE), the super silky leave in/heat protectant (love that), and hair nectar (also a keeper.) It was...

Snap those Curls Back! With beer?
Many of my friends have been complaining of damage, their curls not being the same or simply wanting to have tighter, more defined curls! After doing research, I’ve come across a possible solution for my ladies - before they take drastic measures and cut those once luscious locks! The solution is BEER!
Warm flat beer is said to contain proteins that can help coat, repair and strengthen...
